RDX is a NO SHOW?

I have yet to spot a RDX on the road - I would of imagine seeing at least one or two, especially living in SoCal, but unfortunately, its not the case...

Wondering if it is meeting the sales expectations or if they are sitting on the dealership lots...

give it time. i actually like it that way, since for the mean time, it's not like everyone and their dog is driving one.

it was the same way when i bought my '05 legacy gt. i was the only one in my area that had it. just recently, have i started to see more of them.

Well, think of the ratio of how many RDXs may have been delivered and the total number of cars you see every day.

i saw one on 309-N exiting onto the 22-E the first week the RDX was on sale. This is in N-E PA and was unusually far away from an Acura dealership for a test drive...may have been the first one sold.

One white one in Key West and one black one in Orlando. I noticed that the white one was driven by a couple in their 60's.

None yet spotted on the roads of the South Bay near LA - fine by me. A little surprising since we usually see the latest releases out pretty soon. I also wouldn't mind having the first in the area. Keeping my eyes peeled.

There has been a silver RDX rolling around Vancouver. Vancouver, WA or Vancouver BC? If it's the latter, then nevermind.

Actively looking out for RDX whenever I am on the road but haven't seen one yet in Wichita, KS but I know a person who ordered one and still waiting for delivery like I am.

Finally saw one at a parking lot where I was getting a midnight piece of chocolate cake. I wanted to beat the driver out and talk to him/her but didn't finish my cake in time. Looked like it was a middle-aged woman. First one I've seen in SoCal and oddly enough the driver was outside the demographic. Hopefully I'll start seeing one or two more.

Second one today (that makes it three including mine), and in my neighborhood and the same color too! Talk about coincidence!

RDX in Toronto

I have seen 4 on the road (including my own ) in GTA. All four different color

Two in North York and two in Scarborough.

There are only 5 Acura dealers in GTA, let's say each of them sold 10 last month. There are only 50 on the road. I guess that's why it is hard to spot one. Maybe another 6 months, we will see more.

On the sales lot

Have not seen one on the road yet.
There are 1 silver in the show room, 1 blue and 1 silver in front, outside of show room. On the side lot, two silver, one white, one blue and two black sitting.
It has been three wks for the white one on the lot. Seems like they are not moving at all. BTW, except for one (as far as I know), all of them are non-tech and the one that I have ordered is due any day.

I am encouraged by some of the recent mpg reports.

from Wichita, KS (only one dealer here)

It's funny...I had only seen one so far on the road (and that was right down the street from the dealer so it could have been a test drive) but I was standing at the Hertz counter in Calgary, Alberta last weekend waiting for my rent-a-car at the airport and I saw a Red RDX drive by. Pretty funny that I have to go out of the country to see one.

Except for one being test driven right by the dealer, I have yet to see one out on the road. Well besides mine that is. I know my dealer has sold alot of them as I have seen that sold ones on their lot before customers picked them up, and I was checking their inventory on a daily basis while I was waiting for my CGP to arrive. I like the fact that that I don't see them all the time on the road, but I'd like to see a couple out there sometime! My dealer shows they have 46 of them in stock right now. I would guess the prices should start coming down at least by the end of this month to move that much inventory.

That's funny cuz the 3 RDX's I've seen so far in Toronto were also driven by middle-aged women. Maybe some are treating it as the" Acura CR-V".

Doesn't surprise me... Auto makers almost never get the demographic right, it seems.

This is just a guess, but I'd guess that the demographic was based on an RDX with tech package as opposed to a base model. which would be significantly different generally speaking....

According to those articles I read online, the targeted customers for the RDX is young professionals. But I guess anyone with $$ can buy whatever they want

"Acura CRV", I think you are right. Since lot of people in Torono want a SUV in snowing seasons. I guess those want more luxury go for RDX instead of a CRV.

One area where they may have missed the boat is the number of base vs tech packages they planned to sell. Of the 24 owners that have signed in to date, 21 are tech, 3 are base. I know that this board is not a representative sample, and perhaps the people willing to buy right now are the ones wanting all the tech gadgets, but I think this is interesting (and may be why I'm still waiting for my tech)

I seem to remember reading that they planned to sell them at a ratio of 60% base/40% tech or somewhere along those lines.

I think you are right, the dealer I bought from they have sold almost all tech packages and have base models on the lot.

Rdx

I still haven't seen another RDX in my neigbourhood (Scarborough, Canada). I am enjoying the uniqueness. But I guess sooner or later, RDX will be just like my CRV --> seeing it in every corner of the street............
