I think you better start shopping for a different car. The base will be close to 45k.

My dealer says that he doesn't expect any RDX's until September and that is only the 4 or so units that every dealership is getting in their first allotment. He expected ordered units to start arriving late September or early October. Don't take any of this as the gospel truth as I think he is just guessing on most of these details.
His guess at pricing was "mid 40's" which is consistent with the information out so far. Compared to other Canadian pricing, that is about what I had expected. uworich, pricing under 40K is definitely not going to happen. We also have to wait to see if the Canadian models have any added goodies (headlight washers, driver's seat memory, etc.) compared to the U.S. spec version to help them try to explain the huge price difference.

How about simple gouging of consumers? Price the base in mid 40s and Acura will have RL #2, baby - just watch.

Just out of curiosity, I called Acura Canada Customer Service today and asked about a release date and pricing for the RDX. I was told that neither release nor pricing had been announced just yet but when I pressed the agent, I was told that mid-September is probably when they will hit showrooms. When I really pressed for a "don't hold me to it estimate" of price, I was told "high 30's to low 40's". With this in mind, maybe the price quoted earlier by the Canadian Driver reviewer was for the tech package equipped model. Again, this is purely speculation at this point, but interesting none the less.

Honestly, I don't see how you can get the RDX at below $40K CDN. My impression has always been the RDX should be close to what the current TL costs. This makes a lot more sense since the RDX is a SUV that comes with SH-AWD.

Here's how I see the OTD pricing would go in Canada, generally speaking:
- CSX: $30K
- TSX: $40K
- TL, RDX: $50K
- MDX: $60K
- RL: $70K

Why should Canadians pay more than 15% premium over US prices? Acura sales are way down in Canada, in part, I believe, because they have cranked up most Can. prices relative to those in the states (e.g. RL, tsx with auto etc). So, if thy want their market back, it better come in less than 40K (plus taxes). Dealer prep is another total ripoff in Canada - why is it now 1200-1350 while in the US is ranges from 500-700?

Candian Driver - First Drive: 2007 Acura RDX

At the bottom of the review, it indicates that price is expected to start at $45,000 CDN.
