Just curious about a rattling sound I am hearing under heavy acceleration. It sounds like a chain rattling. Could the timing chain rattle at high load? 156k miles. It could be nothing. I am just more concerned about missing something that could be wrong. Just had car fully serviced by Honda dealership. I’m sure they didn’t miss anything!

 

I had the lower cat shield rust out causing a rattle . I just removed both upper and lower and never looked back . I wouldn’t think a timing chain is failing at those miles but I’m no expert either.
Belt tensioner could possibly flutter at higher rpm’s too imo .
