Quick ? re: the RDX's SH AWD system

so i've read a handful of reviews of our now beloved RDX. now, in more than one article, it has been mentioned that the RDX has a 'simplified version' of the SH AWD system found in the RL.

what exactly are the key differences between the 2 systems?

Only difference between the two I've heard of pertains to the rear axle and the 'acceleration device' in how the wheels are over driven. I think the RL can overdrive to something like 6% but the RDX uses a constant 1.5%.

I think it's 5% actually. But yes, the RL has an extra acceleration device not present on the RDX. . . shaves a bit of weight off the already chunky RDX. Apparently the normal SH-AWD architecture lends itself to the 1.7% permanent overdrive, unable to vary up to the stated value, a la the RL.
