Questions about repair

Hello All,

I have been looking at a 2010 RDX AWD with 49k miles. I have been looking at the maintenance repair list that has been done on it and was wondering if they were pretty typical.

1. Multiple times the drain plug gasket has been replaced... is that a normal repair? Haven't really heard it replaced ever

2. The headlight was replaced about 2 years into ownership

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes to both I would say if the gasket is being replaced every oil change. The headlight while not normal, probably had condensation in it and was replaced under warranty like mine after three years. Known problem, hopefully solved now. Hope that helps

You might be thinking about the oil pan gasket instead of the oil plug "crush washer". That is a one time use plastic washer to help seal the drain plug and it should be replaced every oil change.

I had my driver side headlight replaced on my 08 because of condensation. Since you are so close to your factory warranty ending; any issues you notice should be addressed for example:
- door actuator/locks
- rattling speakers
- floppy sun visor
- key FOB than take several clicks to work
- worn center arm rest

I've never looked at the crush gasket for my TSX, RDX or MDX. My old Honda Accord used a teflon/plastic crush gasket when I used to do the oil changes back in the day. I just assumed it hasn't changed much.

No problem )
Its aluminum now I guess for the whole Acura lineup.
For the RDXs thats for sure. I've just changed the oil last week and found that bloody washer stick to the draining plug completely. So might need to buy a new plug.
