Prospective Canadian buyers of 2008 RDX
I am interested in hearing from prospective Canadian buyers of the 2008 RDX as to what you are hearing from dealers regarding when prices and stock will be available here in Canada.
Phoned Acura Canada today and they said the launch date here is Sept. 15 so no prices on the web /stock till then.I had heard before that they were going to be available this month ,including stock at the dealers.

The exchange rate in 07 was a joke, it would be even more of a joke if they still have not adjusted for the continued strength of our dollar.

Anyone know the exchange rate used by Honda on the 2008 base and tech, comparing both MSRP to MSRP and comparing dealer invoice to dealer invoice?

I don't think that the exchange rate has anything to do with Canadian pricing. It is more like what Honda (and other manufacturers) feel they can get for their cars. What the market will bear.
This is(and has always been) a loosing battle. Also, they prevent you from buying in the US by voiding any warranty here. The only way to get the message across is for Canadians to stop buying cars from those manufacturers that take advantage of this.
I doubt that this will ever happen.

And what casa7 said is true with any industry. Stuff here is cheap when compared to the same items in Europe or Japan. I think it stings more just cuz we're actually part of the same continent as the U.S. so we feel entitled to the same prices they have.
Especially when you can order smaller items online and have your friends smuggle them across the border for you.

You might want to wait until the '08s are out though. The base model comes with a few extras from the '07 Tech...so the Tech model may not be worth it unless you really want the Nav and surround sound system.

I got the invoice price at $37,700 from CarCostCanada. Is this invoice price real or different from yours?
Boon, from which dealer you bought with $500 over invoice? could you please let me know the phone and th name of the sales rep?
Many Thanks.

I spoke to Erin Mills Acura today in Mississauga and the 2008 models have arrived on their lot already. You cannot compare the US prices to ours since the equipment list is different.
I was told that the base is $400 more but now it includes Bluetooth phone, multi-info display, XM radio, and memory on the seats and mirrors.
This sounds OK to me for $400!!! I don't need the NAV but wanted the other items above and this will allow me to go for just the base.

Visited the Acura dealer in Saskatoon, SK last weekend. A salesman there said the '08s will be financed at 8-8.8%. They will be clearing out the '07s at 4.9% (48-54months).
WTF is the deal with this 8%? I could get at least 6% from a bank I'm sure.. Plus most other companies have much lower rates.. Are they purpose-fully trying NOT to sell the RDX?
Dealer also said he had an '08 back in the compound. Never looked at it since I was in a rush.

I did pick it up last Thursday. Put about 500km driving around town this weekend. The ride is quite a bit smoother than the 2007 models I test drove which is a god thing for my wife. She was thankful for this.

Was that price with freight/PDI etc or without it? If not it would be another $ 1,875.

Hi all, my first post on this forum. I've been trolling for over a month, doing research on the RDX. My wife and I had already decided to get it, but I wanted to know what to expect.
Anyway, we pulled the trigger yesterday on a '08 RDX Tech. Before tax, we paid $46,172 (no freight charged). We got the Polished Metal colour, with the following options:
- leather shifter
- cargo liner
- locking wheel nuts
- all wheather mats
We're hoping to take delivery on Wednesday, as long as I have the insurance sorted out by then.
I think we got a really, really good deal, considering cost on the vehicle was about $44400 (don't know what the options cost is, otherwise just the car + freight was $43,400).
I'm looking forward to it - it's our first car, and our first foray into the Acura world. Before the RDX, mine and my wife's famalies have driven 6 Hondas, going back as far as 1983.

Where did you buy it from? What dealer that is?
Sounds like the same vehicle I will be picking up tomorrow.
I got it for $44,640.

I would like to suggest that when members post their prices in Canada that they mention if the price includes Freight/PDI/Doc fees, and options otherwise it is hard for prospective new RDX owners to have a point of reference.IMHO it should be all inclusive except PST/GST.Just a thought.
