Lightbulb Positive Battery Terminal replacement 2007 RDX

Hi guys,

Thanks for letting me in. I've got a bit of an issue with my 2007 RDX.

The positive battery terminal has become super-corroded and has pretty much broken off in a section, and will not "circle around" the positive post on the batter. I used a lot of battery cleaner to clean the worst of it off, which revealed the damage below.
The photos display the damage in all it's glory. The white and blue residue is from the battery cleaner and remaining corrosion.

There's not enough data, or my Google-fu sucks - but I'm having issues finding whether this is a simple task or something for the mechanic.
Can I snip off the bad terminal and replace it with a good one?
Or do I have to get an entire new cable?

For either task - is it difficult for someone with a small amount of mechanical knowledge to do?

Thanks guys!

The same happened to me - I cannot say how difficult it is, but the independent shop by me replaced the terminal wiring for under $200 (parts+labor). So, it shouldn't be too pricey if you decide you'd rather have someone else do it.,

Easy fix, just take some brake cleaner and scrub it all off and Walmart sells new terminals for I think $10.
remove the battery and the terminal has two bolts and comes right off. I replaced my negative wire (the whole assembly) and my positive terminal.
it's real simple to do. Just remove the entire battery before you start and just take a wire brush and a rag spray it with some brake cleaner scrub wipe repeat. It's what I would do.

Scrub with wire brush on the wires not anything else. Use the rag and elbow grease everywhere else.

You CAN snip it off and replace but if the corrosion has gone down the wire, you’ll experience electrical issues in the future. At that point, it’d be time to replace the whole wire. It really isn’t that hard to replace. The positive cable goes to the fuse box and the starter so you have 3 bolts to remove
