Playing iPhone music with steering wheel controls?

Just picked up a 2008 RDX Tech yesterday, did some searching here and found related threads from 100 years ago. Technology changes so rapidly so I'm looking for some recent insight. Is the Dice I-Honda-R4 still one of the better options for playing iPod music with steering wheel controls? Is there something newer/better? Thanks guys! Good to be back on AZ!

The RDX is just a commuter and weekend grocery getter now. Mostly XM radio and Aux with my iPhone takes care of my music needs. I have OEM Bluetooth streaming on my MDX and the sound quality is the same as FM/XM radio, streaming eats my phone battery if I don't plug it in, and internet radio streaming is only good in city limits with 4G in the southwest and it eats up a lot of my monthly data. I mostly use the USB stick with about 40GB itunes music copy/paste onto the stick plugged into my MDX if I get tired of XM (USB has a much better sound quality compared to Bluetooth streaming).

Not sure if the new aftermarket options have the ability to use an USB stick?

Ya, I just don't see where it is worth the time and $100 or so for an iPod adapter. AUX works fine for me. All I really care about is that I can control volume on the steering wheel.
