Opinions on this RDX

Hello everyone going to be looking at this car this saturday. Any advice do you think it’s a good buy? Should I haggle for a lower price?

Here’s the link.

Also here is another one for $1,000 more but its certified, has lower mileage and has a good maintenance badge on the car fax. http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...5569/overview/

Why wouldn't you shop for an AWD option? Without AWD you are missing one of the best features this vehicle has to offer.

True but I live in LA and can’t really afford an AWD one. Don’t think I really need it anyway..(warm weather.)

I would go for the one you like the best. Both are pretty low mileage for a 11 RDX. You can call the Acura warranty folks to find out how much time is left on the original factory warranty and you still have powertrain warranty for another 40,000-50,000 miles (depending on which one you pick). I would check out listings on CarMax also. Prices are pretty much set; but, they can ship cars across the country for a reasonable amount of $$ if you find a one you like better.

I have an 08 RDX with +110,000 miles and I used the powertrain warranty once because of an i-vtec solenoid failed. I used the basic warranty on little stuff like driver door speakers replacement, failed battery, or condensation in headlight; nothing major. The 11 RDX should be as solid as you can get for the 07-12 RDX model years. The RDX is easy to drive, great visibility, easy to park, and plenty of room for running around town. I rather take my RDX around town compared to my TSX or MDX.

I like the tech models because of Navi (do a lot of traveling out of state). You should be able to find a tech for around the same price as a base, depending on mileage. SH-AWD is nice to have; but, not really needed in the southwest heat. I have to be breaking the law just to get the "sh" to kick in on the curves to feel it. The "awd" will just wear down the rear tires faster unless you need it for winter time in the mountains or heavy rains in Cali. Add Hondata and ETS intercooler to a fwd RDX and you would have a faster vehicle with pretty good mpgs.

As a point of reference, I bought 2011 certified FWD with Tech package for $24,500 back in March. They had it listed for $26K at the time. Wanted white with tan interior, so not too many come available so I jumped on it.

Good luck with yours.

If you're not afraid of craigslist and the like, you can also score a good deal. I got a 2010 tech RDX FWD (also white on tan - yes!) in Feb for just under 21k, 50k miles. Still covered under powertrain warranty although B2B had just expired. Previous owners took great care of it though.

Good choice of color Tomtw. And great price. I know white is the absence of color, but it is one of those pearl white things, so I think it looks sharp. I just haven't been able to open the sunroof in Florida here. Not even the shade.......
