non-factory warranty Q

non-factory warranty Q
When I bought my 10' RDX from the dealer it had 49980 or so miles, just few miles shy from the factory warranty limit. This car was leased by one person for the past 3 years, but I was not able to get papers proving proper service record. So at the dealer I decided to go for one of the recommended non-factory warranty plans and signed for one 5 year/60k mi plan. The total price I am paying is $2350.
Right when I was getting the vehicle it didn't seemed to be a bad idea, but now after talking with some people I have gotten the impression that these non-factory warranty stuff are mostly BS. One of my friends is saying that even with an acura with over 100k miles this kind of warranty is unnecessary - meaning that I will end up paying more.
The thing I have purchased is from a company called "Western General Warranty Corporation". It is their "Portfolio Elite plan b"- exclusionary coverage - which covers everything except routine maintenance stuff, with a 100$ deductible.
In one of my previous cars I remember having something very similar and never used it for anything. But I bought that car with only 15k mi on it.
I can cancel this plan and get my money back. But before doing that I want listen some opinions here and make sure that I am doing the right thing.

EXT Warranty is a suckers bet. You'd be better off to just put the $2000+ in the bank and make a couple dollars.
OR-
Ask the dealer to waive the $100 deductable for repairs done at their shop. Otherwise, you'll be paying out of pocket for those door speakers when they blow...and they will blow.

You are paying the dealer's boat slip fees.
Cancel the plan and take care of your car, insuring that all of the fluids are changed on schedule. The RDX will easily make it past 120k miles with no drivetrain or major issues.

Dont buy any third party warranty, it is very inconvenient if you want to repair your car in a acura dealer.
If you indeed need a ext warranty, just buy the Acura Care, then you can go to any Acura dealer and you even get a road assistant.
I had a 08 RDX and I get the Acura Care from http://www.curryacuracare.com/index.cfm
Their price is much cheaper than my local acura dealer. I paid around $1600 for 5yr/80K with 0 deductible.

I paid for the warranty when I bought it from the dealer in 2007. I only used it twice before it was up at 100K. The repairs were minor, not really with the total cost of the warranty. I get them because when I had another brand car it paid off with two transmissions being paid for by them. Glad I had it.
In the long run not cost worthy for most. Acura is a much better car than the other that I had. If you have paid for it, do what Mr Marco has suggested. Maybe they'll agree to it. If not, listen to the next two posters.

Don't forget you still have your 7/70,000 powertrain warranty from Acura.
My 08 has +93,000 miles and the only out of pocket issues I had was a brake distribution sensor for $250 and a $40 to replace a electronic "doohickey" thing that had an 2-amp draw running down my battery overnight.
Your 10 model has to be twice as reliable as my 08. I give my 08 RDX 9 out of 10 stars for reliability.
Take some of the $2000 you saved and get Hondata for your RDX!!
