Miss my RDX

I've always loved driving my 2008 RDX, but now miss it even more. Unfortunately, I was in an accident a week ago, got hit on the passenger side by a POS 1998 Toyota Sienna, driver was on her cell phone at the time! So, my baby's in the shop being fixed, and I'm stuck driving a Kia Rondo. Ok, you guys can stop laughing anytime!

Anyone know what a rad support is? that's something that needs to be repaired (or replaced?) in my vehicle.

Rad support= Radiator support. It's the framing in front of the car that houses your cooling components (radiator & AC condenser + fans). The headlamps & grille also bolt down to the rad support as well. It is located behind the front bumper cover & reinforcement bar. They can either be repaired or replaced depending on how badly they are damaged or what material they are made of. I think RDX's have welded metal rad supports so the repair vs. replace for them depends on the extent of the damage. Most reputable bodyshops can repair or replace them pretty easily because they are often damaged or twisted in most moderate to heavy front end impacts so it is a common repair but it is pretty labor intensive to replace them beacuse a lot of front end parts need to be R&I'd. Good luck with your repair. Hopefully you get your car back soon and it's good as new.

Thanks Ian, that makes me feel better to read that the rad support should be a common repair. There are other things of course that need to be fixed, I think I'm up to about $8,000 CDN in damage, but luckily my RDX is being repaired at the best autobody shop in the city. I hope it will be as good as new too! I'll be waiting a while longer, at least another 3 weeks, since there's a part on backorder from Japan...I hope the Kia is good in snow!

LOL....Kia Rondo.

Hope you get your car back soon and in the same shape as before the accident. I despise people on their cell phones while driving.

OMG, you have no idea how much it sucks driving that Kia Rondo! Everytime I go over a bump, it sounds like something's going to fall off the back end, in addition to too many other clunking sounds. And, the acceleration feels like it pulses. You really don't know whatcha got till it's gone! I sure gave that lady a piece of my mind when I got out of my vehicle and saw the damage. She's 100% at fault, but little consolation to me as I can't consider my RDX perfect anymore
