MID question re: fuel range

Is there any way to set the MID to display the "miles to empty" automatically at startup, meaning that you don't have to scroll through the other options to see it?

I think the MID remembers that last screen you viewed, so when you turn it on again it will display the same screen.

It stays on the last one, but you still need to press the button for it to pop up when you restart.

y couldnt they just let the mid top pop up all the time or make an option for that, i mean its second nature now, but kind of a pain.

I agree. It's kinda dumb. Living in a place that gets winter, I need to know when the engine is warmed up and I have to get that display to show every time I start it.

It's even worse when the maintenance reminder pops up and you have to push the up or down arrow like 3 times to get the last thing you had up before. Then you have to push the center button to get the trip meter showing again. Major PITA! You could be driving around for weeks this way, because it comes on when you still have 15% oil life remaining! AARRGGHH! Sorry for the rant, I feel better now, lol.

+1 on the most annoying warning reminder system I've ever seen (I'm not sure it is possible to design something more annoying without resorting to electric shocks...)

I don't even bother with the MID any more. Without it memorizing the last setting it's useless to me. I'll either forget to press the button to see it or don't even notice the information isn't even there.

Things I find useless on the car are:
- memory seat, what's the point if the side mirrors don't even adjust with the seat settings?
- MID, you gotta hit the switch to see the damn thing every single time you turn on to get the last information. This is probably a one line of code changes.
- the nav screen resets itself every single time. I still haven't figured out how to get rid of the help screen on startup yet. I have to hit display audio to get it to show the XM radio info or a screen I was on before I turned off the car.

These are little things but it annoys me and so I basically stopped using it. It's kind of a waste of money paying for the tech package and not utilizing all the features.

The memory function DOES remember the side mirrors as well.

The "OK" screen on the navi is required by lawyers for liability reasons. All manufacturers have the same annoying feature. At least Acura doesn't lock-out the navi functionality while moving (like Lexus).

the mirrors do change with drivers as my wife and i drive the same car. just the rearview mirror is the one I need to every time. I had an 03 accord navi that I hacked so I had my own start up picture and it skipped the"ok" and went straight to the map. Not sure if the rdx uses the same navi the other acura's use and whether someone has figured out how to hack those yet.
