Message indicator on nav screen, but no "new messages"??

So I noticed that I have this envelop icon with an ! on my nav screen while driving, but when I attempt to "check messages" that option is grayed out and not possible. So how exactly am I supposed to check whatever message the indicator is saying that I have? I also tried to "check messages" with the car parked and still grayed out. Any ideas?

I have the indicator as well, but have not yet tried to look at the message. It's odd that it would be there, but not let you see it. Have you tried looking it up in the manual? I haven't read mine yet.

Yep. Basic manual and Nav manual. I have an option for "check new messages" but, like I said, it's "grayed-out" and not selectable, as if I don't have any messages to check. I've been checking the random audio ones that pop up and go thru the basic functions and delete right away. Maybe it's a stuck icon? Who knows. No other indicators are staying lit on the instrument panel making me think it's not something mechanical. Currently 4300 miles with 40% oil life left, if that means anything.

weird. but at 4300 miles with 40% oil life, youre very "efficient" in terms of driving. i had 4500 when 15% oil life came up and i consider myself to be babying the rdx too much already (60-70% hwy, 30% city, 21-22mpg on avg). maybe it's just a stuck icon but you should check/change your oil soon either way (and reset - maybe that will remove it) esp if you drive in heavy stop-go traffic. but that's just my hunch based on your inputs. wouldnt hurt to change your oil soon anyways. good luck!
