Low Mileage vs. CPO?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a used car, and was really impressed by the RDX. In my budget it seems as if I can either afford a high mileage CPO (around 70-80k miles), or a lower mileage (20-45k miles) at the end of the factory warranty..

I'm looking for some help thinking about which would be a better long-term choice. I'd likely keep the car for 5 years or more. Which would you buy?

Thanks for the help!

Budget is probably 19-23k. I'm seeing a lot of vehicles in that range that fall into those two buckets, but most are 08's and 09's..

I like to keep my cars for 8-10 years on average. I waited and looked for the color combo I really wanted which was the Moroccan Red Pearl w/ Taupe (only for the 07 & 08 models).

There are only slight upgrades between the 08 and 09:

- 4 way passenger seat
- 4 new colors Basque Red Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Grigio and Palladium metallic

Another advantage with the 09 models is the factory bumper-to-bumper 4yr/50,000 mile might be active. This warranty is determined by the manufacture date, not the dealership delivery or sell to customer date.

I used my 4/50,000 mile several times on my 08:
- Condensation in driver headlight
- replaced driver side speaker
- replace knocking front strut
- repainted front bumper because clear coat started peel in spots

I used my 6yr/70,000 mile powertrain once:
- iVtec solenoid needed to be replaced

The only out of pocket (and out of warranty) cost was a brake booster sensor that needed to be replace for $275. All other cost was routine maint or covered by the warranty.

I would start with the color combo you like the best and then go for the latest year and least mileage for the money. You are gonna love the RDX!!

Best of both worlds? get a low mileage, still under factory warranty, and purchase a warranty extension from Acura Care...

I am in the same situation, looking for a used RDX under 25k. Seems like I can get a 10 with 30-40k mileage...

Depends on what you like better:

07-09 body style

10-12 updated body style with fwd and sh-awd models

There were some updates with the tech of the 10-12 models. I like the 07-09 body style with the OEM front spoiler and painted bumpers a lot better.

I'm a fan of CPO's just because the waranty extends out furhter from time of purchase and it has been nothing short of bullet proof for me
