hi guys, we lost (or misplaced - still trying to look for) our rdx switchblade key.

any idea where and how much it would cost to get a new one? i presume they would have to re-"cut" the key as well as reprogram the remote door openers? net, would $200 be adequate (eg. stealership) or what (cheaper) alternatives would i have?

fyi, i tried calling one dealership but they said they dont do these things... maybe im barking on the wrong tree (or person, when i called).

I know dealerships cut keys because our dealership had to cut and re-program a switchblade key when we bought our RDX. I'm not sure but I thought I read that someone bought a key from Ebay and then had the dealership cut/reprogram for $55...might be worth a search.

thanks. ill check out other dealerships tomorrow. i just got puzzled that the one i called (the one nearest my place) said they dont do it (maybe they're too lazy to entertain me as i called just before closing hour LOL)

ha! here's part of the solution - ebay for $45... called a dealer who specifically "laser" cuts and programs the key for ~$60. quite a hike fm where i live (40miles) but then at least im driving and enjoying the ride. there are some cheaper keys available in ebay but i played it safe and ordered the 2009/2010 rdx keys. there were others for $30 but it "looked" diff. hope this helps

I just had a new switchblade key cut and programmed today at an Acura dealer for $115.50 ($63 for the key and $52.50 to program it).
