I would never buy a Mitsubishi
I had a horrible experience at a Mitsubishi dealership years ago when I was shopping for a sports car and the Eclipse Spyder was a new model. The salesman was the most obnoxious a-hole I've ever met and the whole thing reeked of every car dealership cliche. The guy even yelled at and cursed out other drivers while we are on the test drive. Needless to say, I did not get the Eclipse.
Maybe an isolated incident, but I refuse to even consider Mitsu for that reason. I'll take my RDX, thank you very much!

Believe it or not, after I drove the Maxima, The Nissan dealer brought over the salesmanager, and the moment when he sat down, his cell phone rang, and someone on the line happened to be looking for a 99 RL ( the exact same car I was trading in). I couldn't believe he would think I was so stupid, it poisoned my opinion of NIssan.

A dealer will always try to maximize the profit on a sale. The question is whether or not they're willing to slimey and just how slimey they're willing to be.
That's why you have to do your research before you walk in. Know exactly what you want, exactly what you're willing to pay, and , if you've got a trade-in, exactly what it's worth. Some salesmen are obviously slimey, but the best ones come across as very nice people trying to help you.
I also make it a point to never buy any non-OEM product that the dealer wants to sell because I wouldn't be able to research it in advance. If it interests me and I can research it later and then decide, I might do it. If they tell me I have to decide on the spot or the price goes up later, I take that as proof that the product is worthless.

That's hilarious. You'd think that the old car sales "cliches" would have gone the way of the dodo bird by now, but it seems that bad ties and lame tactics are alive and well at the dealerships.
When I go into car lots now, I generally introduce myself as an internet shopper who knows the invoice, and the BS is usually kept to a minimum after that point.
