Long time no see! NEW!

Hey all ive been out of loop for a while. My previous RDX was totaled by hail and it took a long time to find another I wanted. Picked up this beauty 09 1 owner with 34,009 miles :-D. got most my stuff back on but I left my bc coilovers on the totaled one :-( but they gave me 700$ more to leavem so I took it. Looks so naked unlowered lol.

Pretty much a brand new RDX with 30k on her. Can't wait to see the mods. Glad you decided to keep with the pre-mmc 1st Gen RDX. I think the 1st Gen RDX is the one of the most underrated CUV from the last 10-15 yrs. I think I will only give my RDX up if it was totaled.

Beautiful and congrats! I must say I don't like the lowered look at all on the RDX, so your new ride seems perfect to me!!

thank you thank you. I got so used to it on bc coilovers just seems weird to me ha ha almost 3 years on the coilovers plus I was autocrossing it and driving the twisties handles like a dream with coilovers and the progress rsb. So far all I have redone is the intake/flashpro and swaybar. this one I will be able to finally accumulate the rest of the mods :-D. I got to get back with vit and do a retune though. I'm liking the blue a lot, the last one was carbon bronze pearl. here was the previous rdx.

another huge difference is the headlights are clear zomg way brighter lol. the old one was going to need some serious sanding. Both are Techs.

You can work near miracles with a good polishing kit that sands out the oxidized layers. I have used the 3M kit before on another vehicle with great success. I suggest trying that before spending $$ on a new headlight.

yeah I've used the 3m kit with good success using a drill for sanding, not as good of luck hand sanding or at least not the patience lol.

I do vehicle correction from time to time and I've polished up the headlights and opticoat them. Unfortunately, the previous owner must've had angel eyes on them and had holes in the bulb covers. They also did a poor job resealing the headlights because the passenger headlights have a rain forest in them during heavy downpours. I applied silicon around the exterior and bulb covers and the passenger side is still a rain forest. It's so bad I don't think breaking them apart, polishing, and resealing them is worth the extra time.

P.s. This applies to the passenger side only. The driver side looks great! Unfortunately my led bulbs in the fog lights are clearer, brighter, and more white than the factory hid.

My old Rdx had a leak in the headlight luckily it was under warranty and got it replaced but it sounds like the silica gel back or whatever it is in your headlight may need to be added or changed.. it will help with moisture also resealing them properly would be a good idea too.. if you see extra holes then probably should plug them up (you said angel eyes where probably added) im sure if you do those things your water issue will pretty much go away

I think it is mid-model change. So he is referring to the 2007-09 models.

Super sweet ride and color. I wouldn't lower it. I love being able to do the oil change w/o jacking up the car

Wow, an '09 with 34k miles! Crazy! Congrats. I've got a Grigio '07 but I like both the colors you've chosen better. Did you get the tech package?

I got the upgrade bug last year and was looking for a suitable replacement but decided to stick with my RDX for now. As mrgold35 says, it's really a fantastic, underappreciated vehicle and nothing I drove in it's class gave me anywhere close to the excitement that the first gen RDX gives. I considered a TLX for a bit (I know, strange vehicle to cross-shop) but the transmission issues and the entertainment system were disappointing. I may reconsider if they do a good job on the MMC but I might just look for a nice used 1st gen RDX like you. What did you pay if you don't mind the question?

This pretty much sums up the 1G RDX. Love it! One of the few I've seen around with lower miles than mine

Very nice pickup. Finding an 09 with so little miles is very rare!

yeah my other was lowered on bc's jacking it up sucked but I got fast and used to it ha ha.

so my carbon bronze one was totaled by hail and the insurance gave me a lot more over what it was worth so I dropped a nice chunk down but I got the dealer to let it go for 18k they were trying to get 20k out of it which it books between 18-20k I felt it was fair since I was getting a kick from the insurance. the carbon bronze I payed 13k for a couple years ago but it had 90k when purchased and totaled at 115k.

yes super rare I'm happy to have found it because I love the rdx. was a 1 owner full dealer service logs for everything and was a company vehicle it seemed like they may have only used it to go to horse shows, smelled a little like ranch and found some horse hair under the seats so I'm assuming held a saddle in the back and there are two slight skid marks on the back plastic by the carpet where they woulda slid one in and out, I feel those people paid more than what they got out of it ha ha but to everyone their own ;-)
