iPod operation problem

I have the iPod connector in the glove box. For the first few months the iPod worked great, always had it in song shuffle mode and it randomly picked all my songs each time I pushed the up button on the steering wheel.

Now every time I connect it, it selects on its own the repeat function and will play every song by each artist before moving onto another artist and doing the same thing. I have removed it several times, made sure "repeat" was selected to off (it had changed it to on somehow every time), lock the controls, reconnected it to the RDX and it keeps doing the same thing. The "CD" number is on 6 which is supposed to be the shuffle mode. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I BELIEVE that's just the way that you have the Ipod set up. Here is my experience: when I started using mine it will play all songs in the Ipod randomly. I discovered (accidentaly) that if I was playing a specific folder, let's say a specific artist/album before connecting it, when connected it would only play that folder, over and over, and when pressing the steering wheel controls it would advance only within that folder....My solution to this problem was to buy a cable and use the auxiliary plug, that way I have real control of the Ipod and know what's being played....

I believe that this was one of the greatest flaws (maybe greatest is too strong) in this car, you don't know what you are playing because the screen in the device goes blank, and the Nav screen just says AUX....so, you are just relying on your memory to remember what songs you have.....

I went back and read over the Music box file from acura that someone referred me to before. It turns out in addition to being on disc six to shuffle all songs, you then have to press and hold the seek or forward button on the radio for one second until it beeps. I think this has solved the problem.

Yes, let's hope the next model of RDX will show song titles etc., and have touch screen controls on the nav unit.

Try resetting your iPod. Hold down the center and play buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds or until you see it restart with the Apple logo.

just so you know going forward, if you didnt know already, Acura stopped making/offering the ipod connection kits because they flat out never worked right. The problems you are experiencing are gremlins in the system.

Oh man I hope they don't bring the touch-screen back. I love the fact that my screen is always clean with no finger smudges on it. I think the knob works perfect.

I'm going to wait for a 3rd party to come out with an iPod integration which will work with the nav screen...if that will/can ever happen.

The problem is fixed, in addition to being on "disc 6" you do also have to push and hold the seek forward button for one second, till it beeps. It works great again.

Oh, and technology has come a long way, total integration with touch screen on the nav with song titles, playlists, artists, etc is excellent in a number of 2009 model cars from other brands.
