Interested in buying a RDX
I am inexperienced when it comes to purchasing cars. My previous 2 cars were purchased with the aide of my father more than a decade ago.
That out of the way, I am looking at a used RDX. I currently live without a car. Found zip car more manageable in NYC than owning a car.
At this stage of my career/life, I'm more concerned with pricing of the car. I'll be finishing my residency and getting married this year. Aside from all the costs, I also want to treat myself a little for finishing this stage in my life.
I'm interested in the TSX and RDX, but like the idea of having AWD versus the better mpg in the TSX. There are many times where I won't have the option of just staying home in bad weather.
Anyways, I've seen some 2007/8 RDXs with AWD in the NYC area going for $16 and $19k with 75,000 miles on them. They are all CPO'd it. None show any car accidents.
I guess the big question is it worthwhile to buy a used car with so many miles?
My only other used car purchase had 20k on it.
I know honda/acuras can last awhile. We have 3 in our family and my first car which lasted for about 180k miles (a 92 accord).
Aside from that, anyone have any recommendations for an acura dealership in the NYC area. I'd prefer to get a CPO'd acura.
Thanks

Thanks.
They have a 2007 with tech for $24k (advertised). 41,500 miles.
How much room does one usually have to negotiate down on these cars? Would this car be able to go for $21 or $22k? (before tax, title, license, etc?)

Or I can look for a junker for a year, then hopefully with a real job, I can go and get a brand new car. Or lease.
I guess I outta think about it some more. Just really eager to get back behind the wheel of a car
I would recommend a 2008 with <50k miles which still has the original bumper-to-bumper warranty. 2007/2008 have very similar price points but the warranty is a huge kicker. If you go certified pre-owned it's not as big of an issue.
I was in this exact boat last week. I decided on a 2008 base model with 55k miles for $21.6k. (Minnesota)
The 2008 base has significant improvements over the 2007 (memory seats and bluetooth). My 2008 with 55k miles is in a sweet spot because the dealer fixed all the bump-to-bumper items (heat separated dash piece, creak in trunk lid, condensation in driver side headlight) and I still have 15k miles in the manufacturer engine/tranny warranty.
I'm not a huge fan of the tech package, my phone has way better navigation. I also prefer the simpler LCD, it's sleeker. The tech package also commands $1,500 mark up which I think is way to much for what it gives.

I forgot to add
1. certified pre-owned adds about $2000-3000 to the price because you are paying for an extended warranty. If you can grab one still under original warranty you can address any outstanding issues and then enjoy your high quality reliable machine
2. Color also plays a significant factor in 2007/2008 RDX price, there are 10 grey ones on the market in the twin cities and 8 black/red/dark grey. The non-grey ones are about $500-$800 more expensive in this market.
