so i gave my RDX a wash today. and as usual i lifted up the hood to do a wipe down and saw some pieces of leaves in the intercooler. i tried to be very careful but i guess i wasnt careful enough. ive bent a few of my intercooler fins now it bothers me knowing that my fins are bent

Been there, done that. I used a toothpick to straighten mine back out. I slid it between two fins and slide it back and forth. The width of the toothpick was very similar to the width of the space between fins. The results were not perfect, but reasonably close.

The reason I was messing with the intercooler was love bug season back in August. Here in Florida during the summer months our highways are filled with these little bugs and thus my intercooler filled with them as well. I would say at least 50% of the fins were covered. After doing some brushing with my hand thus bending the fins I found that using a vacuum with a duster attachment on it worked fairly well and, assuming I did not push or scrub with it, was gentle enough to clean the intercooler fins.
