How to tell if RDX has SH-AWD?
Hello...We've found a 2007 RDX an hour a way that has 160,000 miles that looks like it might be a decent first vehicle for our daughter. We live in a rural area so looking for a vehicle that will be safe, reliable, and has AWD. And there in lies the kink....
The seller is advertising the 2007 RDX as SH-AWD model, but the RDX SH-AWD badging is gone from the rear of the vehicle. Other than crawling underneath and looking for a driveshaft which is hard for me to physically do, how else can I tell if this is really an SH-AWD model or just a FWD model?
I know nothing about Acuras...Is there anything common I should be looking at while poking around under the hood ?

Welcome to the board!
As advertised they only have SH-AWD until the model was updated around 2010, badge must have fallen off.
on my 2008 model, the dashboard display can be manually switched from the steering wheel to one that graphically indicate the power application to each wheel, more to front at first, will show the transfer of power to rear while climbing a hill.
Lots of info around if you end up buying it, should be a great solid car for intended use...
good luck

Wow, too many things to look at that could be possible trouble. Make sure there is evidence of fluid changes. The one big thing that some people have experienced with that engine is the P086 error code. Basically meant to replace the turbo, but other people have determined that it was a little part that wears out that Acura does not sell. Now the % of these having this problem, probably small, but it has occurred. Other than that, no one really complains about the transmission and other stuff. Good luck.

I'm letting my daughter borrow my 08 RDX tech. She loves the size, power, handling, great visibility, cargo space, and utility of the RDX. She absolutely hates the gas mileage and having to put 91 octane in it 4-5 times a month. Getting 18-20 mpg combined can be the norm for the RDX with the 18 gal gas tank (looking at around 290-325 miles between fill ups). My daughter is thinking about getting a Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, or Rav4 awd with the same space; but, with much better mpgs.
