How many miles does your RDX have? Any mech problems?

Just wondering how many miles everyone's RDX has.

I bought mine last week for a good deal but it has 128k miles.

I'm a little worried about the reliability and am thinking about purchasing the dealer's third party extended warranty. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

~1500 miles on my 2011, no problems so far.

I don't know about the warranty from a 3rd party. They usually aren't very good. And since you have so many miles now, you can't get Acura Care. Honestly, I'd pass on the 3rd party warranty and just save money for any repairs. Do you know what company the warranty is through?

The main concern I would have is the turbo especially if there are no service records.

128K miles!?! Yikes. My 2008 bought new only has a little over 10K miles but my work commute is only two miles away. I should just walk my commute to work, NOT!

I have one of the first 1000 built (in the 700s actually), and I got it in Aug 2006. It has 52K on it right now. No issues other than a few service bulletin items. It's been rock solid.

Not sure about the company but I'm thinking the same thing.. pass and save for repairs. My last 4 Acura Legends lasted just about forever with the exception of the seeping head gasket issue which was common.

That's exactly what I'm worried about. I heard a friend of a friend had his turbo failed when his fuel pump gave out.

LOL yes 128k miles. Nearly 33k/year. It was a decent deal $13k.

Overall the RDX has proven reliable for the most part but there isnt much data that I can tell once you get over 100k. This turbo is new from what I understand as well so you cant even look to its design in another vehicle that might have been out longer.

If you are really concerned take the car to someone who knows what they are doing and they can check it out. If a seal or something is going bad they can usually see it.

I would think the car is fine as long as it isnt abused.

The fact the milage is high suggests it was mostly driven long lenghts which is a good thing most of the time.

I have a feeling the previous owner pushed it because it has clear corners in the headlights lol makes me think that he/she must have been an auto enthusiast. No signs of major abuse though. Going to get a thorough inspection done this weekend.

Long live RDXs!

2008 with 42K and no mechanical problems. Have a spot where the clear coat is starting to peel, I think it is from a bug strike I let sit too long. The Acura dealership had to take the car into a body shop to adjust the front driver side fender. In hot weather, the driver's door would bind and make a poping sound when you open/close the door. Every once in a while the XM radio will play when I start the car; but, channel info would not display on the little display by windshield and you can't change any channels. I just power off/on the sound system and it works after that.

Other than a lot of tire road noise (still have OEM tires) and the sh-awd noise, the RDX is just as reliable as other Acura products.

It seems the RDX in any year has the least amount of issue during its product run compared to the TSX, RL, MDX or TL.

I'm at 37k. Had to replace one speaker and one headlight. Speaker blew out, and headlight fogged up. Warranty covered everything, but it's stil a hassle to deal with. Other than that it's a great commuter.

OP I'm assuming this here is your car: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

Looks like a nice ride, leather looks to be in pretty good condition for 130k. Best of luck. Can't be too bad for the price!

Good to hear no mech problems! Cosmetic and electrical issues are no biggie when it comes to Acuras.

For me, the road isn't as noisy as it is bumpy. Makes me think a shock or two are blown.

Yup! That's the one. I think I got a lot of car for the money although it's just a base, not tech. Lovin the color combo.

The condition is great, just minor cosmetic wear and tear (like cracked ACCEL cruise button, missing cover for the left footrest thing, missing plastic ring for the key hole below the shifter, underdash piece above the pedals came off [the screw hinge snapped], and the lights for the up/down arrows on the driver's side for the temp controls sometimes don't turn on. Previous owner did me a favor and did clear corners on the headlights and replaced the DRL's with clear bulbs.

Mechanically it's pretty sound except for a power steering pump issue I experienced in another thread. Fluid was low so I topped it off. I think the pump may be going bad, gonna have that checked out. Engine runs great, tranny shifts smoothly, although the suspension may have been subjected to a lot of wear and tear due to the high miles.

It's been almost a week since I've owned it and already put on a couple hundred miles during my bonding sessions with my RDX

Got my CPO 08 at 23k now with 25.5K....so far so good.
The Turbo trust is just addicting during the first test drive as it is still today. I really hope the 2nd gen RDX gets a better fuel efficient 4-cyl turbo like the new Sonata.

I agree, the turbo puts the joy in joy ride. I would get another RDX if they improved the fuel economy.

Not sure about that buddy as the RDX is still young and not many are scrapped. You might be able to find one on eBay with luck..
