hood

i just noticed this the last time i was in the showroom... first time through i hadn't even opened the hood... is it just me or is the hood quite heavy and has no pneumatics/hydraulics to assist in raising and lowering it?

i like the heft to it... gives the feeling of very solid construction... at the same time... it almost seems like a health risk...

anyone feel the same way?

i am correct that all there is to hlp with the hood is the old-fashioned pole that is used to "prop" it up?

The hood is a pretty heavy design. Witht he styling of the hood plus the intercooler air dam, it makes for a pretty hefty hood. And yes you are right, there is just the little pole to help you out.

Likewise, a specially engineered hood and other components help reduce the chances of pedestrian injury in the event of a collision with the vehicle.

Thus, the beefy hood.
