First gen vs new RDX
First gen vs new RDX
I don't know if I'm in the minority here but to me the first generation RDX looks a lot better and aggressive than the current version. I'm sure there are a lot of improvements in the interior and mechanicals in the new car. But the exterior looks a generation behind IMHO. Does anyone else thinks this way too?
I actually prefer the First Generation since there are not too many around. I live in FL, I figure 15000 vehicles were sold for my 2011 year, lets say 30 states buy a majority of the vehicles, I have a white one, 15% of the sales, so by simple math, there are maybe 75 white RDX's in Florida. Actually, when I look at Carmax, white ones are far and few between, so there are probably 50 white ones in FL. In other words, I am not driving a Honda CRV that you see 20 of them on the road when going to the grocery store. I call it "The Hawk" because of the pronounced front-end. A joy to own for the past four weeks.

I also believe that if you are a car enthusiast, the first gen RDX is probably the most fun SUV to drive in its class by far

Thanks guys for your thoughts. I'm in the market for a new SUV and RDX is in my list. I just happened to look at pictures of these SUVs and got a peek at the previous version. I wish I could have got a previous version as "new". Anyways .....enjoy your ride.
I am a 1st gen RDX owner - '07. No, it doesn't have memory seats or power passenger seat, but I am rarely the passenger. Purchased in Oct 2006. I still love it. I considered a new one last fall so my DH could drive my '07 in the winter since he had an RSX and it just wasn't practical. We ended up trading in his RSX for an '11 RDX tech w/ 20k miles that just came off lease - turbo, SHAWD and the low miles were huge deciders. The 2014 RDX didn't do it for me. Especially since Accords have more new features. While his '11 has a few more bells and whistles, I still love the handling of mine better - much tighter steering. Unless Acura comes out with a performance package, I'm not sure I'd buy another RDX.
When the '07 RDX came out, there was nothing else like it on the road - one of the first with iPod/bluetooth. When driving around, I saw heads turn to look at it. Now there are a ton of similar vehicles on the road and they have passed Acura as far as features and fun. Too bad they didn't stay ahead of the pack and decided to conform. Very disappointing.

We just traded our 06 MDX Touring for a 12 RDX AWD Tech (15K miles) and we couldn't be more pleased with the car. The 13's and 14's didn't do it for us either - I think one of the things that stood out was how small the Nav screen is on the 14's. The interior is also much more toned down on the new ones as well. We didn't drive one, but we were in the market for a 12 anyway.
We're finding our 12 to very fun to drive - corners exceptionally well for an SUV. I have an 06 TSX as well and I have to say the RDX can be fun (for what it is). Aside from space, we don't miss our MDX.
