Difference with my 08 compared to 07....

So I've put about 600 miles on my 08 so far...and here are some major differences I've noticed with my RDX compared to the 07's. Please tell me if your experiences are the same.

I was always planning on buying an 07 and test drove 3 of them....but with the pricing and everything else that I got, I decided to just upgrade and get a brand new 08 (Without even test driving it). The dealer told me that 08 did include some changes with the steering/suspension and a few more things...but here are the things I've noticed so far.

Take into consideration that the 07's I test drove were all used and all had about 14-17k miles on them. So I'm not sure if the differences I'm experiencing are attributed to my car being new or not...but here it goes:

-My turbo is MUCH quieter. You can hardly ever hear it spooling and it seems a tad bit more responsive then the 07's, but not by much. Both 07's I test drove had VERY loud, hard spooling sounds (almost not normal IMHO).

-Steering feels A LOT better, so the dealer was right about the steering being improved. It feels tighter and much more smoother.

-The ride feels a TAB bit softer. Still pretty stiff, but again a slight difference is felt between the 2 years.

-Lastly, the secondary fan in the 07's I test drove were very loud and almost annoying. In the 08 it seems to come on later, stay on a shorter amount of time, and the noise has been reduced probably about 30% or so?

Those are the only main things I can tell are different so far, but I only did take the 07's out for test drives...so can't comment on much else other then things I noticed on the drives I took in them. Are these changes pretty similar to what others are experiencing as well?

i dunno about the amount of noise you are experiencing, but the 08 is def softer than my (the) 07 (im not a fan of that) The 08 still feels a bit stiff, but body roll reveals itself in corners much differently than the 07 (the 07 felt so rigid in turns, loved it) the 08 is quicker to give in

turbo noises n such etc, i never noticed any difference in the mechanical operation of the 07 compared to the 08, could just be those particular loaner vehicles you never know.

Compared to our K24 '04 TSX the turbo is pretty noticeable noise wise in the RDX. My folks have a very low mileage '98 F350 V8 Power-Stroke Turbo Diesel. The RDX turbo is just about as loud as the turbo hiss from that massive diesel.

That said the turbo over all is still near silent compared to the AEM V2 CAI and DC Sports header I had in the 2000 Accord EX we traded in on the RDX. I think my DC header had as much hiss as this turbo.

Love the turbo in the RDX. Maybe I've grown up far too long in trucks & SUVs when I was younger but the RDX is a d*** quick little truck/wagon thing. I definitely don't mind stepping out of the TSX to take a drive in the RDX.

And for anyone that likes to complain about the harsh ride in the RDX, go buy a full size real truck. The RDX is a soft pillow, and it flops over WAY LESS in the corners for sure. I love the RDX, such a fun place to spend a nice drive.
