Dealer Hell aka My Two RDXs

My THREE RDXs
I picked it up this afternoon!
Everyone at Smail Acura kissed my ass and we all did our best to be upbeat and pretend like none of the past six months ever happened.
I'll get better pictures of it tomorrow. It's beautiful. As I drove it off the lot, it confirmed for me that RDX #2 never handled correctly.
For comparison, here's me with RDX #2:
And the day I brought home RDX #1:

Gotta hand it to you. You stuck to your guns and got a new RDX out of this. I didn't think it would happen. My um...hat, is off to you. It looks beautiful. I hope this one works out for you well.
I don't think the dealer is losing any sleep over this though. With the transfer of collateral on the original 37430, plus the additional 500, the transaction price was 37930.
A 2010 Black RDX Tech SH-AWD with 60 miles and outstanding condition in the Pittsburgh zip code, shows dealer retail at 35165 on Kelly Blue Book and 34323 on Edmunds True Market Value. They made 3 to 5 grand on the transaction. (It's be interesting to see what RDX #2 lists for if they put it on the lot.)

It's very hard to find prices on a 2010 that's still considered new. Allowing for the best case; that this leftover 2010 might still be sold as new with 60 miles; the invoice is 35840. But dealers don't pay invoice either -- I'll revise my estimate down. I still think they made 2500 to 3000.

The 2010 is a new vehicle. Under PA law, under 500 miles and never titled = new. Also, the in-service date for the factory warranty is yesterday. So, that's a definite bonus for me as well. Obviously, since they sold me three cars in a year - even if one of them was for trade + $500 - they still made money from dealing with me. I actually emphasized that aspect in pressuring them to do this.
The point is this: they really, really, really, really did not want to do this and in the end, they did it. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this car turns out to be what an RDX should be.

I have known two Acura dealerships that were really really bad. I have called Acura a few times--and each time they rectified the situation including making the dealership drive 2.5 hours give me an RDX loaner, peel off and replace that cheap (but expensive) 3M guard that was bubbling everywhere they were installing it and then drive back and get the loaner. I just spoke to them clearly and concisely and told them this is amateur hour going on at the dealership.
