Cup holders

The cup holders seem too big and are not firmly holding normal size cans and bottles. It looks like there's a little groove in the bottum for a normal size can, but then the diameter is too wide. I would have thought there would be some rubber flaps along the inside to hold narrower items more firmly. Anyone else notice this or found a solution?

I am also a little dissatisified with the front cup holders. Our 06 Civic has the BEST front cop holders. They accommodate a large range of bottles/cans, and grip them tightly via the flaps that you mention.

I find my cup holders to be too small. I always get a really big cup.

Yes the 06 civic has to be one of the best thoughtout interiors. (aside from the ebrake location in our coupe). But the RDX could use some better cup holders. Than again as fun as the rdx is to drive the only thing I tend to drink in it is water with large bottles or a bike bottle. No soda boost is needed to keep me awake in this thing. Maybe you can find some sort of insert I will do some searching.

Ditto!

Size does matter!
Big Gulps and Route 44's are an essential part of a travel plan. It is absurd that with console room as large as that of the RDX, that the cup holders should suffer.

Ditto rdx4fun, I think there are aftermarket cup-holder inserts that may accomplish what you're after.

The rubber flaps would be a great addition to what they currently have. For a while I would stick my bluetooth headset in between cup holder and the travel mug I use since I have no need for the bluetooth headset as a headset anymore....

My wife's TL has the rubber flaps. They help with cup stability but can be a problem when you put that Grande Mocha (Non-Fat, No Whip, Xtra Hot) with a sleeve into the holder and the flaps hold onto the sleeve. Occasionally the sleeve is so tight the lid pops off as you squeeze trying to get the cup out, the cup compresses and you've got coffee all over the place. (not that this is ever happened to me)

a small strip of black foam tape around the bottom of the cupholder would probably work......maybe like the kind you can buy for bike helmets?
