Changed my Air Filter

First and foremost thanks JMJ3rd for taking the time of ordering WIX air filters and shipping it over to me. Napa still does not have a clue when they will be getting this filter in

Anywho used Wix part number 49123. filter is well built and is known to provide good numbers in terms of silicon levels and such.

Un screw the 4 screws holding the air filter cover (you don't have to unscrew all the way, you'll feel it get looser once you get to the top and that should be good enough, the screws don't come out).

Loosen the the clamp holding the intake pipe and filter cover box together and pull it away. It may be a good idea to un hook the sensor hooked up to the cover (I didn't but I realized when I was putting it back together if I wasn't gentle I could have yanked some wires :S)

Well once you got the cover off or away pull the filter up, clean the bottom portion of the box with a cloth or vacuum, put new filter in (its shaped in a way so it can only go in one direction) reverse everything and be on your way!.

Also while I was doing that I cleaned the intercooler.

Now i'm off to do the cabin filter!

Man, I'm glad you finally got them.

I'm going to wait until I need the change. Please post if you "feel" a diff. in performance. (un-scientifically of course)

Just curious why did you not go with a K&N air filter? They advertise their filters as having the capability to add more power.

Because of the problems it could cause. Please do a quick google search to find out why I chose not to. Heck I think I've posted my reasoning on this board.

If AEM did bring out a dryflow replacement I may think about it.

question: why wix...just an alternative choice, or any added benefit/difference from Acura...just wondering, unlike K&N that claim performance gains, the WIX website seems to be clear of that style of language/advertising

1. Wix Air Filter PN 14923
2. Napa Gold (WIX) Oil Filter PN 51356 (dont remember the napa pn number should be similar thoe)
3. Napa Gold (WIX) Cabin Filter PN 24815 (4815 Napa number)

Update: Ive noticed upon air filter change my fuel economy numbers are better yet im driving the car harder lol.

The original filter only had 13,000KM on it (so not much) but it did have a bunch of crap on it.

RDX sees urban driving all the time so it could be the reason for a dirty air filter.
