Has anyone else had problems with the stock batteries when its below freezing? Any suggestions for another battery that might work better?

My stocker didn't last as long as it should have...bought the car new and the battery took a dump in like 2 yrs. I believe many others had similar issues. Particularly in cold weather. any battery with lots of CCA will do better than stock. I have an Optima red top.

My OEM battery crapped out with no warning at the 3 year mark. I replaced with an Interstate battery about 2 years ago (Mega Tron Plus, MTP-35, 6yr). The interstate battery just crapped out this weekend; again, with zero warning. Taking the RDX back to Interstate for a free replacement battery this morning. I am going to purchase a portable vehicle jumper (with air compressor) just in case.

My TSX OEM battery lasted 5 years before it died (with no warning). Replaced with an Interstate battery (Mega Tron II, MT-51R) and that died one year later just like the OEM. At the rate I am going, the OEM batteries last longer than the Interstate ones.

From my experience, I would not recommend Interstate batteries unless you have a portable jumper in your vehicle as a back-up.
