Anyone keep the XM and pay for it monthly now?
Just picked up my RDX, and I assume all RDX's come w/ XM free for the first 3 months like mine did. I've never considered XM before, however after using it for a day, it's actually pretty cool. Did anyone commit to it after the 3 months and are paying monthly for it now? How much is it a month?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

I left XM for about a month, after which they responded with a winback offer of $5 a month on a monthly basis for the first three months, no commitment, no other fees. The fourth month it jumps to $12 a month. I will reconsider XM again at that time.

If you search deeper in all of acurazine, other members have paid winback offers of $77/year. There's no offer code or anything. Just call them up and say "hey I got an offer in the mail for discounted service..." I would find someone with a scanned pic of the coupon to be sure.

okay, i have seen the $77 thread & when mine expires later this month, i am certain that i will get that deal one way or another. but what about prepaying for 2-3 years? what type of deal or rates can you get? frankly, i am fairly certain that i am keeping my RDX for the next 36 months & i would just prefer to pay a couple hundred dollars now & forget about it.

Am I the only one who feels like the audio quality of XM is pretty bad?
I mostly use 3 inputs: XM, MP3 CDs (192-256 Kbps VBR) and iPod into Aux. XM has the worst audio of the three by far. It sounds like a poorly encoded MP3 (I'd say 96-128 Kbps) on most music channels.
I did get a TL as a loaner and found the XM quality to be the same, I have never heard other satellite radio service before so don't know what to expect. All I know is that there is no way I'd pay a monthly fee for this.

I'm surrounded by an urban setting (eg. lots of tall buildings and shit). When I travel to out to open road I notice significantly better sound quality. I think it sounds better than FM, if it doesn't it SHOULD!

Found this interesting post on an XM forum. Looks like quality is gone for good.

I have XM at home and the sound quality is great. I had a Alpine tuner in my last vehicle and the XM sound was fantastic. For whatever reason, the XM sound is not good in my RDX. Everything else is great.
