Anybody Like the Gold Emblem and Lettering?
I think it looks classy, especially against the Moroccan Red of my RDX. The day I drove home my new vehicle (three days ago), my teenages immediately commented on the gold emblems and letters in the rear of the car. Definitely makes it look more upscale.

The gold would look good set against certain colors (Red being one of them). Other colors like the Silver would not look good with the gold emblem and lettering.

I was a bit concerned over the vanilla look of my Moroccan Red RDX (before I bought it). Something was missing. So I asked for the gold emblems, front and back, and gold for the "Acura", "RDX-Turbo" and "SH-AWD" on the back of the vehicle. I was stunned at the difference it made. It went from "vanilla" to "Wow."

It costs $56.76 at http://www.handa-accessories.com/rdx.html. Looking at the installation instructions, it seems to be a big pain to get it installed ... especially removing the negative battery terminal wire to install the front "A" symbol.

It was free. The dealer did it. I asked for it to be included gratis after I negotiated a price for the car. That and the front spoiler and the bad weather mats, which were just in time because it snowed the day after I brought my car home.
As an option, it is listed at $140. But like I said, I got it for nothing.

I wouldn't like it unless the car was either black or white, and had gold/bronze wheels with a chrome lip. That would be the only exception, otherwise looks out of date and reminds me of an elderly person's car.

Agree with a number of posters here, Gold trimmings are very 1990's and outdated... I remember owning a 1999 TL and Gold emblems were offered then, and it seems only in Japanese brand cars. It appears to be directed at asian consumers (no discrimination intended here, as I am also asian) who look at Gold plated stuff as meaning wealth... I have a friend who is a builder and to this day, still design houses with Gold embossings on doors and windows...
I personally don't like Gold emblems...

To the ignorant who think the gold lettering is "ghetto" (whatever that means) how about funky different grills on the RDX or 22" rims, or stripping all the brand identification off the vehicle? What do you people call that? Modding? The difference escapes me.
