About to buy 2010 RDX SH AWD w/ Tech... but...
Hey all... first time here... first post. Hope to get some good advice.
Ive been researching RDX SH AWD w/ Tech's for a few weeks now after I decided on the vehicle. I have searched the entire I-5 Corridor from Bellevue, WA to Eugene, Oregon and it ended up that one of the two Acura dealers here in Portland gave me the best offers/negotiation.
So I got the folks down to $36,200 for a new one ($37,600 or $460/mo including all fees/financing @ 1.9 x 60 months w/ my 10k trade in).
Then I started to inquire about a briefly mentioned service loaner.
Its a 2010, same trim/color/everything with 3300 miles AND I had them throw in the extended non-powertrain coverage to 7 years/100k. It's certified, and negotiated a price of 35,000 all-inclusive (comes out to $35,800 or $430/mo after interest/dmv/trade in/etc)
So - its a difference of $1771 (without the added value of the extended non-powertrain warranty to 7yr/100k).
I will get to 100k in 5-6 years.
Is saving close to a couple grand worth a few thousand miles on this car? Ive read pros and cons on service loaners, but the low mileage and CPO/Warranty protection leans me toward the savings...
I haven't signed yet - will today or tomorrow (after a thorough test drive/inspection/etc). Any thoughts would be appreciated!

My thought is get the brand new car. In the long run you'll look back and an extra $30 per month will be pennies. I just don't like the idea of loaners as you never know how people treat/drive them. And since the cost difference is so low I would go with brand new. IMO the enxtended non-powertrain warranty would be nice but is just a marketing gimmick to get you to spend more if it's of interest to you.
To each their own though. I always prefer new cars over used cars. Other people prefer used.

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
Welcome to AZ!
I agree with the posts above. The price difference between new and CPO are minimal in your case; I would favor purchasing the new RDX. If the CPO was offered at say 32k, I would go for the CPO.

I will also agree with the above posts. Though I did buy a CPO '09 the price was 3K+ lower than new, and I was able to get them to add a few accessories no charge. (Though I did forget the leather shift knob)

So.... I got the service loaner. Only 2k miles on it. Plus I had them throw in the wrap free of charge which extended the non-powertrain to 100k (powertrain is 100k as well). 35k. Its white, which was my third choice, but Ive never had a white car before. Its growing on me. Ebony interior tho (that was a must).
Took a few days to negotiate, but, it worked out in the end. Oh yeah.. they took my 2005 Accord EX-L w/ Navi, one accident, Mod-Good condition for 10k (had 1k left on it, so essentially it was 11k). Still on their lot for 12,900 a month later. Id be curious if it sells for anything more than 11,500 with the accident.
Thanks for your advice guys, but I couldnt pass up the savings and the car is completely covered for 100k should anything pop up... (especially those of you who may have driven the 'piss' out of it!!

I'm glad you finally found something. I would have gone with the new car but as long as you're happy that's all that matters.
As for the powertrain warranty, is there a certain # of years on that or is it just mileage? Usually it's 100K miles or 4 years right?

You weren't prepared for the fuel economy???? Did you read any of the reviews or look at the spec sheet on the car? You definitely don't go into buying this car for the fuel economy. Enjoy the ride. I love my RDX.
