30K service dealer service what to do?

I recently had my 08 RDX with 34K miles in for a quick look at the brakes as they seemed to be grinding, and they seem to have fixed this issue. But they also mentioned I should look at having a 30K service done, and told me it was like 685.00, and that’s a lot of money! So, is this some thing I should have done, or do I go by my service indicator which just came on with an A1? Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks!

You're fine going by the MID.

go with what hte car needs, the rest of the checks are bs. whatever schedule u r on w/stuff like the rear diff etc, stick to that. However, i do recommend doing a tranny service @ 30k.

Have your oil changed/tranny fluid/diff fluid done.
Discount tire can rotate / balance your tires
you can do the cabin air filter yourself in seconds
follow your MID for 90% of everything.

+1 Always go by the MID. Was this an Acura dealer that told you this? If so they should know better.

Thanks all for the input! And yes phoward, it was an Acura deal, go figure! I agree with XIS, that's what I will most likley go with as I know my last diff change was 15K, and as MMike pointed out Ishoul have the trans service done.

if the tires arent giving you trouble...there is no need to rebalance a balanced tire, even on rotation.

Oh thanks MMike, I almost forgot they would do this, but I have to get tires before winter so it would be a waste of money! The funny thing is they told me I needed tires, and you know what he quoted me (I didn't even ask for price as I know better then to get them at a dealer) like 1195.00 are you kidding me?
