2nd Gen Owner Impressions
Yesterday I put about 215 miles on my new 2013 AWD Tech. Averaged 27.2 MPG (80% highway - usually 10MPH over the posted limit).
I love how easy it is to drive. It is going to take a while to get used to the lack of feedback from the steering wheel and the light feel to it.
At 70 MPH, the engine is turning about 1950 RPM, 2200 RPM @ 80 and 2450 @ 90.
The HID + fog lights totally light up the road and give great visibility.
I helped a friend move and with the seats down, you can fit a surprising amount of stuff inside!
Not in love with the nav system - not being able to type in an address when the car is moving - having to go through several voice steps to input the destination is awkward. Playing music through my iPod hasn't been completely seamless - but unplugging the USB then plugging it back in fixes it.
Love, love, love the back up camera and the way the turn signal will flash three times by bumping the stalk.
It doesn't feel as quick from a standstill as the old model or the Q5, but linear power is good - it just keeps accelerating. Often I look down and am surprised how fast I'm going.
I'm glad I bought this car - the jury is still out on the dealer - I only received one key because the dealer can't find the second - I have to drive across town this week to get a replacement. And they were in such a rush to get me out the door that I didn't get to do a walkthrough and didn't see a couple of scuffs in the paint until I got home. Hopefully the dealer will make things right.
