2012 RDX charging system problem
I'm having similar issues with my 2012 RDX. My wife got the check charging system light a few weeks ago with sh-awd. I checked the battery with my voltage meter the next day and it was at 12.5v then 14.0 when running. I put my obd scanner on and had no DTCs. The live data stayed around 14v while driving. Occasionally dropping to 13.8. I drive it for days with no incidents.
This past Tuesday we took the car from Milwaukee to Chicago to see family. On the way home I went to pass a truck, the turbo kicked in and it stuttered big time. The check charging light came on and within 10 miles I had to pull over. AAA responder cane with a jump box showed battery at 5.5 volts and no output from alternator.
I had it towed to an area shop. They diagnosed a bad alternator (what I expected), and replaced it with a new Denso. They called today to say they had it out on a second test drive and it did it again. Either the Denso was bad or something in my car killed it. Has anyone had a similar experience or know what could fry an alternator so quickly?
Thanks for advice.

Probably just a defective alternator. It's only an output device, so I don't see how anything on your car could kill it unless you have something spraying fluid directly on it. Hopefully the shop will not charge you to put another new one in there.
