2011 RDX brake lights not on

Hi, I have a 2011 RDX. When I step on the brake, the top brake light on the back door comes on, but not the left and right brake lights on the back door. Any idea what might be the cause? Thanks in advance.

Starts with the basics, check for dead bulbs, proper connects or check for blown fuses.

Sorry I forgot an important data point. When backing up, I can see all 3 brake lights come on.

To confirm, when you press the brake pedal in reverse, all the brake lights come on, but they do not when in neutral or drive? Or do you mean the tail lights come on when you turn the lights on in general?

I ask because the bulbs are dual filament, and it's very possible for the running lights to work while the brake lights would not.

That's exactly what happened per the mechanic. Once I realized it's more than just replacing light bulbs, I took it to a shop

thanks for all the replies.
