2007 RDX Starting Issues
Hey all,
I have an '07 RDX with the technology package that is having a cold start issue. It's been going on about 3 years total but only when winter hits and the temperatures get to be about 30°F or below. The car cranks, but too slow to start. Immediately after I put another source of power on the battery it will fire right up. My local Acura shop has checked it out and they said it would be good to go, they disconnected the hands free unit. I have replaced the battery a total of 4 times, I had the starter rebuilt and replaced the terminals for the battery. I have checked over the last couple years and it has not been losing voltage when it was not running. Any information would be appreciated greatly.

Not sure what specific battery you're using, but you may consider getting something with a slightly higher CCA rating. I want to say the actual OEM battery from Honda is near 500, but the replacements I get from Costco are rated at 640. It does crank a little slower at or below freezing, but always plenty of juice to get the car running. We use a group 35 battery, but the actual CCA ratings within that size group range from under 500 to over 700.
