2007 RDX B1 service

Hi Guys,

I am new on this forum and will appreciate your input on this. I recently got msg for B1 service, hence called up couple of Acura dealerships in NJ for the charge. All of them have quoted me around $180 for Oil and Filter change + tire rotation and inspection and some fluid changes.

Is it normal for B1 service?

Thanks in advance

I'm amazed that so many of you guys pay for oil changes. My ACURA dealer honors no-charge oil changes for life of the vehicle assuming you purchased it from them new. Awesome! I recently had a B1 service on my RDX and only paid for the tire rotation/balance for like $45 plus tax. Oil/filter change was free!

Yes. I got the same quote for B1 service about a month ago. Fortunately, my dealership (Sunnyvale Acura) had an oil and change special for $49.99 (+ $40 for Mobil1) with free inspections and tire rotation (B1 is a glorified oil change + tire rotation). The final bill was <$90 including taxes.

I didn't know about the special. My service adviser, James, saved me $100!

Thanks guys for your reply. I will check for any deals going around otherwise will try to do the oil change myself by following the DIY steps. Hopefully it will not be too difficult.

Cool RDX B1 service expensive

My 2010 RDX just showed the B1 service due light. It only has 6629 miles. The dealership quoted me $170 for the oil change, inspections listed in the maintenance manual, and the tire rotation. I thought this was pretty steep and called our local mechanic who works on Hondas and Acuras, and his quote was $185! I was shocked and told him he was higher than the dealer. He said that he always changes the transmission fluid on the B1 service because with the turbos it gets very black quickly. I checked the manual and it doesn't required transmission fluid change at B1. So I asked him again and he said $110. That's still a lot of $$ for an oil change and tire rotation. I'm going to check for deals....

Exclamation rdx transmission oil change

Has anyone heard that the RDX transmission fluid needs to be changed more frequently than required by the maintenance manual?!

nope....have not heard that...

Also, with every service you will need to get a tire rotation, for that they can add up to $50 to the bill. You can either do it yourself or bring it to a tire shop that does them for free (check out town fair tire).
Your oil change shouldn't be more than $80 IMO
I get pissed at Acura because they always mailed me service specials that are good for everything but synthetic. What pisses me off the most is not so much the volume of the other stuff I get, it's the fact that there is never ever ever anything for the RDX.
