Daughter bought a used 2007 RDX it came with only 1 key FOB.
Would like to get a second FOB made.
Done some research, pricey.
In the Toronto Ontario area are there any economical ways to do this?

 

I had the same issue. 40$ key on ebay "nice fancy upgraded key/fob". 27$ to get it cut. 120$ for the tool to program it. The average price should run you about 200$ usd at a regular key shop/locksmith.

This can program most keys to your rdx. Also does almost everything a dealer can to your rdx. Check in depth system checks and in depth code errors. 100$ +

This is the key i purchased. Took 2 weeks from China. It works 100%.

I got an exact OEM looking FOB with blank from Amazon. It came with instructions to self program it.
Key is getting cut next week at a locksmith shop

 

I dont think you will be able to re-program it yourself.

 

I found out the hard way, you can "reprogram it yourself" using some awkward steps, but it only lets the car respond to the lock/unlock buttons. In order for the new key to be used to START the car, it has to be done with the tool!

Went through this myself last week with the locksmith.
