19" Wheel - $2400!!!!!
I was at the dealer last night going over some of the options I wanted. When it got to the 19" chrome wheels they were quoting about $2400!
What I found surpising were 2 things, one, Acura.com shows $2200, excluding installation, so the $2400 with installation is believable until they tell you that this does not include the tires. So, you have have to go somewhere else to get tires and pay to have them installed.
First, what am I getting for the extra $200 of installation and second, once you add in the cost of the 19" tires for about $350 each, the total comes to roughly $3800!!!!
So, I asked the dealer if they had any other Acura 18" rims. They showed me an optional set for the RL. They looked similar to the 19" RDX wheels. They were going to see if they could install these on the RDX.
I will let you know what they tell me.

I was also blown away when I saw the accessory price list at the dealership. You are right, Acura's website does not state that the cost does not include tires. The dealership prices for the 19" rims (w/ tires) was a $3000 for the sparkle silver and $3100 for the chrome silver. If you are thinking of buying them, might as well get the chrome since they are only a $100 more!
The other dealership I went to is selling the sparkle silver for $3100 and the chrome silver for $3500, so I also suggest checking around. I am assuming the cost difference amounts to different tires/markups/installation fees.
I really like the upgrades on the RDX. I think that the stock alloys are not sporty enough for the RDX.

$350 for a tire? I have 18" Falken Ultra High Performance All Seasons and they are only $145/each.
You are also getting ripped off for those rims. They are not worth $3000. Go and buy some nice rims that will make your RDX unique, dont get the Factory options.
I spent $1200 on 4 18" rims and 4 tires.
I bet those Ron Jon's are even cheaper than $3000

This thread posted a link where you can buy the Acura rims and other accessories at a discount from the Acura website price: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=sales
What size tires will fit the 19" rims?

While it is an expensive undertaking, adding a good set of tires and the 19's will definitely improve the handling and the ride characteristics of the RDX (on top of the cosmetic improvements that the 19's provide). You also will have the 18's to use as winter rims for your snow tires (where applicable). This combination results in substantial improvements to handling, ride quality and safety on a year-round basis. Driving with SH-AWD in the winter with a good set of snow tires will put a big smile on your face and get you where you are going safely.
Apologies in advance for the repetition, but the OEM Michelins are crap - there are much quieter, smoother riding and better handling options available (although in the goofy tire sizes of the RDX, the options are few). Better tires will make the RDX a totally different vehicle - one that is substantially quieter, smoother and handles better.

Heard back from the dealer, the 18" RLs will not fit. At this point I told them to pull the 19" wheels out of my options list. I guess I will look around for aftermarket wheels down the road.

Once the initial eurphoria dies down, the OEM 19's will be available for more reasonable pricing. Many, myself included, are willing to pay a little bit extra for the peace of mind that comes with knowing that the OEM wheels fit perfectly.

Add to this the fact that the wheels must be compatible with the RDX's tire pressure monitoring system and the choices become even fewer. Yes there will be some, but they won't be much cheaper.

i don't know how the acura tire pressure monitoring works, but with nissans its just a sensor that ataches to the inside of the valve stem. if this is the case then any wheel will work as long as the stock sensor is used.
