'10 RDX A/C quit and Check Transmission Light
Hi everyone, well a little backstory, the family just completed a weekend trip to Moab, UT from Ft Collins, CO, about 400 miles each way + 100ish miles of state park driving etc. About 4 hours into our drive to Moab, the TPMS failure light came on. Read: Not the low pressure warning, but that the system failed. I pulled over and checked the tire pressure on all tires and they were OK. Kept driving and the warning went away all on it's own a few hours later. I checked the tires again when we arrived, no issue. This happened several times throughout the weekend and drive home. Not sure if that is relevant, but full disclosure. Right after I started the car back up when the first TPMS failure came on, the A/C quit and wouldn't blow cold air. Fans were kicking on and ambient air was blowing through the vents. This stuck with us all weekend, which was no fun. Drive home Sunday, same TPMS failure light come and go a few times, but we make it. It's now Monday and wife drives to work w/ no A/C and home just fine (given that A/C isn't working). She leaves tonight to attend a vigil for the Orlando shooting and on her way home she calls me with a "check Transmission" warning light, check engine light, & flashing D light. No fluids are missing from the car and she's in town so she drives home, but said that there is an odd clanking sound, which freaks me out. I made a video of the sound, which is
. There was a bit of corrosion on the battery which I cleaned up, but the sound persists (CEL and other warnings cleared due to this, but didn't drive car at all). Luckly I have a OBDII reader and got P0847 error, which reads:
P0847 Short in 3rd Clutch Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch Circuit, or 3rd Clutch Transmission.
I've done some googling, but any further thoughts on if this is all related to the sensor? I'm going to call Acura tomorrow and see if I can order the part and replace the sensor myself. Only issue is that Acura dealer is about an hour away vs a Honda dealer in town. I'm thinking about calling Honda and asking if they have the same sensor, but not sure if I should check with Acura first? Would love to avoid a 2 hour drive tomorrow if possible.

We had the TPMS System failure happen to us in our '11 RDX repeatedly. Several trips to the dealer later, they said it was caused by our phones. Well, not exactly, we figured out it was our cig lighter plug-in phone chargers. Pulled them out and the system failure is gone.
With all the other stuff it going on at the same time, could it be the battery. Get it tested to see if it has proper amperage. You may need a new battery.
If your trans fluid has never been changed, change it.

Just to update the thread, replaced the sensor yesterday which wasn't much of an issue. Reset the CEL by removing the battery and haven't seen it come back on after initial start up and a few spins around town. Maybe 15 total drive cycles (Engine start/stop is 1 cycle to me) as I would shut the car off at red lights to try and increase my cycle #. Wife is driving it back to work today so hopefully that issue is resolved. Car is still making the odd noise in the video, but I believe that is the compressor (not really sure and it's more of an semi-educated guess), have an appointment w/ Acura tomorrow morning to get that looked at.
