Hey i'm about to buy some falken gloss black torque 5's 17's cuz i really don't want to bend a rim w/ the 18's. Should i get a 215/45/17 or a 215/40/17?

go with a 215/45 because it will give u a lil more rubber, and it will make for a more smoother ride, and still keep that gap small (if ur lowered)

With those you'll need a 3 in drop to really close the gap..

yea they make 4 lug, man i'm kinda pissed i got the 17's, 18's is just a lot more dough in the long run wit tires and stuff and i kno i'd bend em at school and be screwed. Well i guess i should drop it, where's a good place to get a prokit and whatever spring i need? Also, my hood has the most f*cked up paint i have ever seen in my life. Almost the whole thing looks like it was keyed about 50,000 literally. Someone sed it could be something called spiderwebbing or maybe the paint cracked or somethin, but it is completely disgusting. I'll get a pic up soon but let me kno if u kno what this could be. It's also starting by a couple of the wheel wells.

If you are doing 17's you need the sportlines and not the pro-kit , with the pro-kit it will still look like a 4x4

Just a quick question on tires.. Do people put the 215 instead of the 205 to protect their wheels from curb rubbing? On tires.com i cant choose 215. kinda wierd.

I kno that sportline makes it lower but i don't mind a slight gap. Too small of a gap and i'll f*ck something up. I'm constantly drivin from ny down to md and back and i kno somehow i'll mess somethin up. jamz has a prokit on his wit 17's and the stance is perfect.

i dont mind a small gap, as long as it doesnt go all the way up to the 4x4 gap...an inch or so is alright, would the 40 profile tire make a huge gap?

here are examples 45 vs 40.. two diff kinda rims and stuff but still

shiney 215/40/17

jamz 215/45/17

far as i know both got prokit/kyg's so compare both tires on em... i beleive 215/45/17 is the size closest to our stock tires w/ rims
