TEIN SS Spring Rate

I searched but couldn't find anything.

Does changing the height on the TEIN affect the spring rate? With mine being a V6, I think it may sit lower than I4 with it adjusted to the reference value of 1inch.

For the SS i believe it does. Cause your adjusting the height by compressing the springs more or via versa, Therefore it will change the spring rate. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

spring rate is determined by:

Number of coils
Diameter of springs (inner diameter)
Diameter of coils

If you are not changing one of these, you are not changing the springrate

Then will changing the height with TEIN affect anything? Someone told me that if I wanted to raise it, the car will be bouncier. Is this true?

I have the 2005 Tein catalog

94-97 Accord Application - Tein SS Coilvers

Spring Rate: FRONT 335 lbs/in REAR 280 lbs/in

catalog lists same spring rate for the basic coilvers

I'm going with the Basic coilover for my car come spring

if i'm not mistaken.....the spring rate will not change.....all you are doing with coilovers is changing the position of where the spring "sits" on the shock

K Thanks. Did you buy the coilovers yet? Or just deciding to go that route now?

I've decided to go that route and plan on buying the coilovers end of this month, or start of April....i'm in no rush. I'll grab my camber kit the same time as well

I've also ordered my suspension techniques sway bars off a guy on torontoaccords.com....if i get everything in and the weather is good, that might be my Easter weekend project

It's all planned out huh? How much were the sway bars? Could I get them if I still wanted to?

You're not changing any of these three factors when adjusting that bottom collar

btw, tein ss for more than $800 is ripping you off. I don't keep up with pricing for tein (i don't run them), but i always see tein ss going for aroun $850 since every shop carries them and advertises them

as far as having the ride more bouncier when raising the car:

I have no experience with it but not likely. Although raising and lowering the car do effect wheelrates, it usually goes the other way around. Just raise the car up and see what happens. Not a big deal

Thanks, you're always helpful with the suspension aspect of things.

Remember he's talking about Canadian dollars. I got my coilover the same place, JRP. They had the SS during boxing day for $1000.
