rim offset/drop/tire size dilema
Need some advice. i bought some used rims 18x7 42 mm offset. they have an old set of 215/35's and on stock ride height they fit great.
im looking to drop 1.75 / 1.5 and get some new rubber 225/40. my concern is rubbing the upper arms.
would spacers be a good idea? 3mm? 5 mm? dont want to go to big as i dont want to have to replace the studs
any help
thanks

I would suggest you put the new tires on first, then decide how far you want to lower the car. I have 225/40/18's on my 98 CL, and I think it looks good at stock height. If I were to lower it, I would go 1" max with no spacers.

THe other thing to keep in mind, is with coilovers you can adjust the height up and down, so if you're rubbing, you can adjust 1/4" or so if needed. If you're going to drop your car, do it right

well i like the wide track look, im sure most have seen 3zero's CL , something similar, diff style rims, no WW lip but similar look
im just not sure about spacers, everyone has different opinions on how thick before you need new studs. some people say 5mm others 10 mm
i have the option of 215/35/18 or 225/40/18 i got a great deal for both sizes
i guess im going to have to wait until i get my parts.

first of all i would never run spacers, if you want a wide look then purchase the right wheel. As far as your tire fitment goes
i would install the suspension and then go from there.
