Question on Rims Bigger Than 16"
I am currently looking at wheels for a '99 3.0CL. I have found a few such as the Maxxim Vigor that look pretty good. However, they look nicer, in those virtualization tools on sites, as bigger than 16 inches. About a month ago, I saw a message on tirerack.com saying that with a 17 inch wheel or bigger, you have to roll the fender. Is this really necessary or should a 17 or 18 inch wheel go on just fine? Thanks!

I checked TireRack again and it really only gave a warning if the rim was over 7 inches wide. The Maxxim Vigor wheels, which I am most likely getting, are 7 inches so they should be good

New to boards here so hello to all. I put some 18" XXR 008 wheels on my 98 3.0 CL today. They fit great, fill the wheel well nicely, and no rubbing at all. They are 7.5" wide rims with 225/40/18 tires. Ride is a little rougher, but it's a small price to pay to look good.
