help with suspension

I am interested in changing my struts on my 3.0cl 99. I was looking into KYB struts. I'm not sure which ones im going to get, but i was wondering do I have to get new springs too? I am asking this cause i do not want to drop my car. Also, what else besides the struts would i have to buy? like do i need to get strut mounting kit or any other small parts? finally, what struts would let me adjust my drop and also let me keep them at stock hight and would i need to change my springs for adjustables too?

thanks and sorry for all the questions

Cheap and good don't go together. If you want a nice ride, you have to spend money. If you want cheap you get a crappy ride.

So do you want to lower it or not?

you can use the stock springs...depending on the settings it might ride slightly "harsher" than stock but nothing dramatic

is there a reason you are going with the agx and not the gr2? the gr2 have slightly softer valving than the agx and might suit you better...dunno what your needs are though

oh and it won't effect ride height

I'm also going crazy here!

So, you want struts that let you lower the perch? How about Koni Yellows. Will let you ride at stock height or drop 0.5". Is this the answer you are looking for?!?!?!

all i want is a more sporty ride, i don't mind feeling all of the bumps and i don't care if the ride is kinda harsh. I just want better handling and more control.
-I know if i lower my car i will get much better control but I can't (or i don't want to) cause of the weather in NJ. I can get coilovers and just adjust them as i need, but I am short on money right now and one of my struts needs to be replaced and this is the main reason why i want to replace all 4.
let me know if you guys can't understand this

It's not the weather, it's the driver..Mine is dropped and never had a problem, my old civic was dropped 3" and made it through NJ winters and rain. Don't waste the money...

trying to decide on what coilovers to get

Is there any advanatage to getting the KSport full coilover kit or the Tein full coilover kit compared to the KYB shocks and skunk2 coilovers?

Also does anyone recomend teh Teins over the KSports? they are such a price difference and when it comes to coilovers the 4cyl or 6cyl engines do not come into play, am I correct in saying this?

Ksports will give you a little lower drop and a much stiffer ride. TEINS will give you a much more stock feeling ride. My teins were pretty bouncy until they settled a bit.

Teins are better than ksports hands down, wish I had $1200 to throw at Tein SS-P's cuz that's what I'd roll, I bought D2's instead which are the cousin of ksports

I'm rolling on the newer revised Form & Function Type I's dropped 1.5" overall.

The handling has improved and its just much more fun to drive now.

From the info I've gathered, the ride/handling between the more expensive Type II's and my Type I's are bout the same, just the Type II's have additional dampening adjustments.

I've been wondering about this kind of thing as well. I've been looking for some tiens, but when I went to the local performance shop, that was the one brand they didn't sell. They do, however, sell KW (never heard of them personally, but they guy there seemed to know what he was talking about and said they're some of the best around... Here's the site http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_P...vers/index.php). Any thoughts? I'm looking for like 1-2 inch drop, and much firmer ride. I was planning on spending around $1500, but the guy today said the KW's would run me like $1700... Any thoughts?
