98 2.3 steering vague

I just had new tires and an alignment done. Car runs smooth, but the steering wheel doesn't re-center itself, it stays about 15 degrees off center(either side). And there is very little feedback when I am in a turn, almost as if the car doesn't "care" about re-centering itself. When I go over bumps & RR crossings it feels as if the wheel is jerking one way or another, rather than just rolling over the obstacle. I am doing a lot of correcting on the highway while driving straight, not big corrections, but frequent.

A friend has a 98 Accord and the steering is much tighter.

I noticed one of my front tires was installed backwards. Took it back to Mr Tire, they remounted it in the proper direction and everything is back to normal.
