When to replace struts
When to replace struts
Wassup guys
I was wondering I put back my stock struts back on around 2 years ago. I had them off because i had some KYB's. ( sold'em got a good price for them).
I thought my struts were as good as new since i didn't use them.
My question is when do yo know when to replace a strut. I mean i don't bouce around on the highway. It pretty smooth.

Only way I've found for any objective measure is to listen for wheel to slam down when you pull over a sharp drop. The strut should slow the wheel spring down enough to reduce the impact. If you hear a sharp slam, the strut dampening is weakened. I've found that overall ride may still be acceptable, however you won't get that smooth ride over rough obstacles, such as speed bumps at low speed.
good luck
