Whats the problem????
So here's the story....
10 months ago I get my alternator changed. I got an OEM alternator from Acura.
At the same time i change my low beam bulbs to the silverstars.......two months later they both blow on me...so i take them back to discount and they gave me a brand new pair.
3 months later one of them blows and I replace it with a generic Sylvania bulb.
2 months later my other Silverstar blows and I replaced it with a generic Sylvania bulb.
I just replaced one of the generic bulbs 1 month ago. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
What i think:: I think the alternator is overcranking on amps and this is causing and increase in wattage to my low beam bulbs. But if this was true then the alternator would be overcranking to the ENTIRE electrical system. However, NO OTHER Bulbs are burning out. Only my low beam bulbs.
ANY IDEAS?????????
Thanks
Josh

Check for damage to the bulb wires, also try replacing your light fuse. Silverstars are known to blow quite frequently, but if you touch the glass on the bulb even the slightest bit, that can hurt too. I don't think your alt would cause your bulbs to blow

Walmart sells a little battery monitor (voltmeter w/ some LED's for HI/LO) that plugs into your cigarette light socket, about $15. It will tell you whether your voltage is excessive, which might cause premature failure of the headlights or any other light. Read directions. You can determine a lot of information from this simple voltmeter.
