Ugh. '97 CL just got hit on the passenger door.

Hello,

Let me preface by saying that I am pretty clueless about cars in general. This is only the second car I've owned, and the first Acura.

Anyways, it's a 1997 Acura CL 3.0 coupe which I purchased in May. I got hit while pulling out of a street parking spot, so I will be liable, and, given my deductible, the money to fix the car will be coming out of my pocket.

It looks like all of the damage was contained to the passenger door, but it looks pretty bad, like the whole door might need to be replaced.

I'm going to go to a body shop today to get an estimate. They tend to be pretty reasonably priced, but I don't really know how much to expect.

I have a friend that knows a lot about cars and I'm thinking MAYBE he would be able to replace a door. I was thinking of checking out some salvage yards in case he can.

My quest is does this car model share doors with any other Acura or Honda? In case I can't find the exact model, maybe I can still find a compatible door.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Nope, unfortunately it doesn't share doors, you will need to find a 1st gen CL, 97-99 Acura CL 2.x or 3.0 will work, you're best off just swapping on a whole new door. Sorry to hear about your accident

Check car-part.com for a door near your zip code, go by and inspect before buying. I have also mail ordered some smaller parts w/ good results, but nothing as big/heavy as a door.

good luck
